Company History

The major stages in the establishment and development of Chemical Joint Stock Company are as follows:

Based on decision No.01/QD - UB of People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City dated January 04th 1982 setting up Purchasing and Processing Factory under General Materials Company in Ho Chi Minh City, in order to meet the market demand and the development of the industrial chemicals so  Thu Duc light powder factory has been built specialized in producing Calcium Carbonate (light) and mainly providing in the market used as filler in toothpaste, Plastic, Paint, Rubber...

On March 11th 1993, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued the decision 82/QD-UB on the establishment of Chemical producing factory under Ho Chi Minh Department of Industry which is specialized in producing Calcium Carbonate (light powder) with capacity improved 3.500 tons/year and located at 5/4 highway 1A. Tam Binh Ward, Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City.

On 18th July, 1999, Decision No.3498/QD-UB-KT of Ho Chi Minh People's Committee transferring  Chemical producing factory into Ho Chi Minh City chemical company.

Starting from the needs in using great products of Calcium Carbonate, Ho Chi Minh City chemical company carried to study and develop the research projects of manufacturing Calcium Carbonate from domestic resources in the replacement of importing Calcium Carbonate . The project was approved by People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, on November 20th 2000 under the Decision No. 7787/QD-UB-DA of Ho Chi Minh People's Committee allowing relocation and modernized investment in Calcium Carbonate producing factory (heavy powder) at 938 Nguyen Thi Dinh, Cat Lai Industrial Zone, Thanh My Loi ward, District 2, HCMC.

In early 2003: Calcium Carbonate producing factory (heavy powder) was officially put in operation with capacity of 25,000 tons per year, including two kinds of Calcium Carbonate which is not coated and  covered with stearic acid layer and became one of the first factory  manufacturing these products in the country with the aim to satisfy the demands for big industries such as plastic, paper,paint industry. The factory was invested  automatic technological process 90% and Calcium Carbonate products can completely replace Calcium Carbonate imports to meet demand for domestic production.

On July 08, 2008, Ho Chi Minh City chemical company converted into Ho Chi Minh Chemical Joint Stock Company under Decision No. 4103010768 officially operating in the form of Joint Stock Company, the capacity of the factory was increased 45,000 tons per year, in which calcium carbonate is coated stearic acid accounting for 20,000 tons / year.
